Ok here is a hypothetical situation for you…You own a team that did terrible a season before you fire the coach and hire a new one in the off season. Now this season this new coach leads your team to the playoffs with a rookie being your star player…do you let this coach leave and go to a new team? Hell no you don’t. That is why if I am the owner of the Indianapolis Colts I am doing everything in my power to keep Bruce Arians as a part of my team. So whether that means paying him a ridiculous amount of money to stay as my offensive coordinator or to even replace Chuck Pagano as the head coach I am not letting him leave.

Yes I said it, and please believe I understand what I am saying.

• I am saying that the Colts should let go of a man who has just been through the toughest fight of his life.
• I am saying that the Colts should let go of a man that probably inspired an organization and a city unlike anything seen in sports since Tim Tebow made “The Speech” at Florida…(sorry had to go there, just a little pick me up for Tebow-Nation)
• I am also saying keep the man that actually coached the Colts to a winning record.
• Keep the man that led the Colts to a playoff berth.
• Keep the man who has coached up Andrew Luck aka THE FRANCHISE.

Do you think Big Ben misses Bruce?

To be honest how good of a coach is Chuck Pagano. Do we really know? I can tell you that I know Bruce Arian is a great offensive mind. And from seeing what he did this year should probably be coach of the year. (Anyone notice the turmoil in Pittsburgh since he was replaced by Toddy Haley?) I also know that if you have a young QB, especially one that has had a rookie year like Andrew Luck, you want to keep certain things in place for that QB to grow.

We are not talking about a coach that has been there for 10 years heck even 2 to establish how he wants his team ran. We are talking about a guy that was hired in January and had to take a leave in September, three weeks into the season and the Colts looking like they would be getting another high draft pick at 1-2. What happened after that was all Bruce, and because of that he will be at the top of every team  thats looking for a new coach this off season wish list.

Now I understand talking about firing a guy that is battling leukemia is probably not the the best PR move, hell if you watched him give that speech after their week 9 win over Miami and you didnt feel something you have no soul whatsoever. But at the end of the day we are talking about a business and in this business winning matters. Jim Irsay already had to make an unpopular decision of letting Peyton Manning go because everyone was unsure how he would comeback from his 4th back surgery. So he already has very recent experience in this situation.

The question Irsay has to answer is whether he wants to make the right PR decision and keep Pagano who could coach these colts for the next 10 years and be great or the right business decision and keep Bruce Arian who HAS coached these Colts with a rookie quarterback, who only won 2 games last year, and during difficult times this season to the playoffs. If this was your team what would you do?

I should be a Quentin Tarantino Fan. No really I should. I love action movies that can make you laugh and be serious at the same time…This is Tarantino’s wheel house. But for some reason I have never been able to connect with any of his movies and I have tried.

Now I must be honest I was skeptical of Django when I first saw the trailers. ‘Wow really a Tarantino slave movie…I will pass’ I thought. That is until I started hearing reviews and seeing them get nominated for all sorts of awards before the movie even came out. So I said if I get a free pass to a screening that will be money well spent. Well I was pleasantly surprised when I left the theatre thinking ‘I would have spent money to see that!’

Basically its a story about a slave (Django, Jamie Foxx)  who is bought by a German bounty hunter (Dr. King Schultz, Christoph Waltz) to help him find three brothers that were former plantation overseers. For helping him find these brothers Schultz would then free Django. Only to befriend Django become bounty hunter partners and then help him get his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) who he had lost in a slave trade years ago, from plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio)

Now my issues with Tarantino has usally been his stories. I found myself not caring about the characters too much and somehow somewhere getting lost in his story (which is easy to do seeing that Tarantino movies feel like a kid with ADD wrote them) Django was different for me cause I wanted to know how the story ended. I felt like that Tarantino told the story well and was able to add his comedic twists at the right moments and the actors were all phenomenal. Christoph Waltz quick witted character of Dr. Schultz was a great pair for Django. And some of my favorite scenes involved Don Johnson’s Big Daddy character. And then Leonardo DiCaprio killed his portrayal of plantation owner Calvin Candie. He somehow made the character so charming in some scenes you actually think hey this slave owner isn’t that bad that is until he got mad. Jamie Foxx tells a story about how hard it was for Leo to say the word nigger, that is until Samuel Jackson told him he better get over it.

Ah yes the race element. I heard Jamie Foxx say that he wanted the word Nigger to be said as much as possible because in those times they would call a slave nigger before using their name. But damn even I got a little uncomfortable with how much it was used it almost seemed like Tarantino wanted too see how far his street cred black card could be stretched. Also it seemed like Jamie Foxx went from talking like a slave to talking regularly from scene to scene. And lets not talk about how a slave knew how to ride a horse so well. But I digress

My only true advice to movie goers is to not go into this looking for the historical content of this movie. It is what it is. Its an action love story that is based in slave times and shaped like a western…I am sorry spaghetti western. So when I hear Spike Lee say that he wont see it cause its disrespectful to his ancestors I can only ask what kind of slave movie is going to be respectful. Because I have seen some slave movies and Tarantino showed some things that I wasn’t prepared for that we know happened back then. So go enjoy the violence the funny the love and the great performances by all.

Merry Christmas

We all have had friends that dated someone that we just didn’t like for them. Ladies you thought he was either a bum, a dog, not good enough for her, not good looking enough for her. Fellas you thought she was either a bitch, a gold digger, ugly, hood rat, bougie etc etc. But it doesn’t matter how right you are or how many red flags you point out. When your friend is in love they don’t listen they are blind to all the negatives matter of fact they might call you a hater and even tell you to stay out of their business. I was having a discussion with Kyra Robinson on my internet show a couple weeks ago about how different celebrities handle their private/public relationships. I was talking about how Kim Kardashian makes her relationship extremely public she wants to be seen and Kyra said that is no different than what some regular people do on Facebook and Twitter.  I had never thought of that comparison before, how people use Facebook and Twitter to broadcast everything about their relationship. Then you have some who might be in a relationship for months but you would never know it by looking at their page.

I put people into 3 groups based on celebrity relationships. (My grouping is dependent on people in dating relationships not marriage.)

• Jay Z and Beyonce dont really talk about their relationship. Remember when they never mentioned they were dating even 4 years into them dating and everybody already knowing. “What Wedding?”. Whenever Beyonce mentioned Jay Z as her husband the world stopped cause its always a surprise when they acknowledge each other. Have you ever seen a picture of them kissing?
• Will and Jada Smith are more public with their relationship. Doing interviews together elaborating on their parenting style and how their relationship work. very touchy feely. Their kids are in a business are in the public eye as well. But it always seems like they are in control of how the relationship is displayed. Black folks damn near lost their mind when their seperation story got going. People thought black love would stop if Will and Jada broke up.
• Kris and Kim Kardashian Humphries This is a business relationship. They dated for 6 months and he proposed to her so they can get the proposal done in time to make the season premiere of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ They will deny this of course cause Kim has finally found her man. Dont worrry about Reggie Bush, Miles Austin, her old body guard, Kanye West and whoever else she was linked to. She likes to complain about the negative press she gets even though her entire existence is based on staying in the press.

For all those people that like that Kardashian type attention remember Kim is getting PAID to put all her business out there. Once you put your relationship out there for everyone to see it’s not only your relationship but everyone else’s.

• This was the conversation I had with Kyra that got this post kicked off.

I can admit that I am a casual fan of boxing. If either Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao aren’t in the ring I am probably not going to watch. And I like many other hardcore and casual fans are waiting for the big fight to happen…Mayweather vs Pacquiao thats all we want to see why cant these two legends of the ring just come to terms and give the people what they want right?

But think about this, could the boxing world actually dread the day that Mayweather vs Pacquiao actually happens? Of course it would be the most watched boxing event in the history of boxing events. Floyd and Manny will be walking away with truck loads of money. But what happens when its over and we have a winner? Is there any other match that we even care to see?

Lets be honest boxing does well when you can get the casual fan like me interested in a match.

So when Pacquiao v. Mayweather is finished who you got for me? You think I want to see the Klitschko brothers sleep walking through fights against no name challengers I could care less about? Hell no this is why Pacquiao v. Mayweather cant happen yet.

Don King isnt out here creating must see fights any more. The best way to see some of this up and coming talent is if they face Pacquiao or Mayweather.  I didnt know who the hell Victor Ortiz was until Floyd decided to fight him. And because HBO does a great job letting us get to know the fighters in 24/7 Ortiz might have gained a few casual fans.

It doesnt hurt also that Mayweather v. Ortiz ended in controversial fashion which had the boxing world buzzing for about 2 weeks after the match. (Floyd had every right to knock the hell out of Ortiz but what in the hell was the ref doing?)

And each time Mayweather and Pacquiao step in the ring with a different opponent they also run the risk of losing the biggest pay day of their lives. Because if they should lose a match to any of these challengers Mayweather v. Pacquiao loses a lot of its luster.

So at the end of the day if you are one of the top guys in the world of boxing would you rather see the biggest pay per view match right now and wonder when the next big fight will be or do you want to keep milking your two cash cows for as long as you can?

This quote came from a friend of mine while we were discussing some man issues she was having. I will get to the man issues in a second but first lets talk about that quote. That has to be the first time I have heard a girl say that when describing how good the sex is with somone.

Usually when a woman has a man they dont want to share them with anyone. And if he blowing her back out she definitely doesnt want anyone else getting a piece of them. Thats why when she said this to me I thought it was hilarious. Now I know she wasnt being literal but the thought of her being such a good friend that she will lend out her man so her girls can experience mind blowing sex is hilarious to me.  Like she is lending her new iPad out so they can get a feel for what is the best product on the market.

Can you imagine the conversation when the friend brings him back:

“Damn girl I never knew.”

“I know right, did he do that thing with his dick when he was inside you. I told him to do that for you”

“Yup yup he did I had to make him stop it was feeling so good”

“Yeah I have gotten use to it. I know how to handle it better now”

Now you think with a woman with a man putting it on her like this she should have no issues. Well she does and she brought it up to me. He doesnt sweat her. He isnt all over her. He isnt calling/texting her all the time. And its driving her nuts. She says when she texts him he sometimes responds immediately or the next day. He will call her randomly just to see how her day is going but then wont hear from him for days.

She is a beautiful girl with a body so ridiculous that it makes you believe that God actually hand crafted her himself. So she is used to men pursuing her and the fact that the one she wants is treating her so nonchalantly  is again making her crazy.  Now another fact about this situation is she lives in New York and he lives in Miami. She met him earlier this year while visiting South Beach and saw him again recently on another visit. She is 25 he is 32. Her question to me was should she just forget about him and let him go or continue trying to make it work?

My Response:

• That’s not your penis!
  • That penis is a rental for whenever you are down in south beach. Like you rent a car you rent the penis for the weekend and then you go home there is no commitment. You dont take the car home to NY do you?
• Most women I know dont give up on good penis!
  • As long as he isn’t doing you wrong as in beating or cheating why would you not continue using this man for good sex when you go on vacation.
  • Remember that’s not your penis so he cant cheat.
• Why the hell would he be pursuing you?
  • You live in NY he lives in Miami!!! If he comes to NY have fun when you go to Miami have fun.
  • He already beat it up. And he knows you LOVE THE DICK!!! There is no reason for him to be chasing you. You have been caught!
• Stop thinking about other women partaking in that good sex!!!
  • This is where women really lose their mind about men they are messing with. Even though that is not your penis and you can not claim it you dont want him doing the things to make you squeal to some random broad.

Ladies I get it vacation sex with a local can be exciting and great. And it can feel even greater cause you can keep in touch via texting, calling, facebook, twitter, and whatever else. He is going to say all the right things cause again he already caught you and he knows you love the dick. But dont get caught up thinking he is the one. Cause you might be his one…of many!

I was having a nice little conversation with @ChaseyInc on twitter today. I was joking with her saying she might have crazy tendencies cause all women have some sort of crazy tendency. She responded with “I don’t have any crazy tendencies. I’m just a spoiled brat..but trust I spoil in return. I’m a believer of the ’1 stop shop’ rule!”

Of course I asked what is the ’1 stop shop’ rule. She responds by saying “If you want a complete man, you have to offer a complete package: Lover, Friend, #1 Fan, all that..or some1 will fill in the blanks. So if your mate gives you everything, you must give him everything in return..it’s only fair. Hence the term ‘one stop shop’.”

I thought that was a cute analogy and it got me thinking? How many people can honestly say they are a ‘one stop shop’ and how many people are actually looking for a ‘one stop shop’?

I mean when I think about a one stop shop it would be a Super Walmart or Target. But there are other kind of stores to shop at so what kind of mate would those be. You have specialty stores like the ones on 5th ave that makes women lose their minds. Then you have your grocery stores where you get your food and sustenance. Then you have something like a dollar general that is a cheap cheap cheap version of a Walmart or Target. So I compared each store to the type of mate it best described…

ONE STOP SHOP

Ok your Walmart or Target. You can get everything here from clothes to jewelry to food to house and auto care products. Hell they might have a little Subway in there for you to get a quick sandwich. The ‘One Stop Shop’ is the ideal mate the person who brings something to the table in every category you are looking for. This is the person that you SHOULD want to be with.

But there is a small problem…as good as he/she is at everything they are not necessarily great at anything (have you ever bragged about buying clothes from Walmart think about it…my point exactly). Same way as if your mate is a good provider, good friend, will listen to you but isn’t the greatest in the bed room (not saying its terrible but not the best you have ever had), or they are stable monetarily but you have dated people that money was never an object. Again you should want to be with this person but there are some people who cant get past the fact that they are shopping at Walmart for clothes.

5th Ave

People shop on 5th ave to get that expensive purse, shoe, outfit, etc. Its that wow factor about shopping on 5th ave that gets people hyped up. They cant wait to buy that new “item” and brag to their friends or show it off. Same thing goes with the 5th ave mate they have the wow factor they either put it on you good enough or buy you something big enough that you want to brag to all your friends about it. For some reason the “L” word is ready to be said in the first week and you don’t understand how they make you feel this way so soon.

But here is the problem, like how every purse, shoe or outfit has their season and then they are out of date and not used anymore is the same issue with the 5th ave mate. Yeah the sex is phenominal or their pockets are deep but thats about it. Their conversation is boring and they are more into themselves than you. And more than likely have a few dollar generals hanging around too (explanation coming). And guess what that gets old and played out quickly.

Grocery Store

Grocery Stores…you can get your nourishment and food here. Your meat and potatoes and even some stuff to clean the house with, its very simple you go when needed but that’s about it.

The Grocery Store mate is the same they are the bread winner they work all the time make sure the bills are paid hell they even cook and clean. Your home will always be taken care of. But all that work leaves them too tired to do anything else. Your life with them is like clock work nothing extra no nice conversations nothing romantic just a boring, plain existence…but at least your fridge is fully stocked.

Dollar General

You are in a bind or you need something quick and cheap Dollar General is the way to go. Always posing as a big time store (calling its snack section its grocery aisle)  but really it is what is cheap but reliable.  Dollar General mate wants to be taken seriously so bad they know they not at the level as ‘One Stop Shop’ got the wow factor of a 5th Ave or even the consistency of the Grocery Store but they will break they back pretending like they can. Usually hangs out with people of status hoping to get a straggler (think Turtle from Entourage picture left). You ever notice how a dollar store is in the same lot as a major store. They even can get some play every once in awhile cause they are always around and willing to help out whenever you need them (i.e. jump-offs). But at the end of the day they are what they are and will never be more than that.

So at the end of the day you have to figure out what the heck you are shopping for what and what makes you happy. Are certain things on your checklist more important than others? Do you really want a ‘One Stop Shop’ when having 5th Ave might be just fine by you? Having a ‘One Stop Shop’ is nice ideally but remember not everyone is perfect and you have  to decide what negatives in your mate are you willing to deal with.

By my “humble” definition- the concept of fashion is the usage of clothing in various colors and materials, accented by accessories to create a walking piece of art! A collection of pieces put together, accentuating lines and curves, and bringing each person’s own individual features. Fashion has no boundaries, which is why something that looks fashionably on point to one person, sometimes looks beyond awkward to another. Too many times we get caught up in fashion trends, as they become the standard for what’s “in”. However, the reason it’s called a trend is because it’s a look that can generally be pulled off by anyone who executes it correctly (ex; leggings, waist belts, tops with pointy shoulders, etc.)

We should all aspire to be people who challenge fashion barriers. Of course it’s fine to sport the latest trends, but don’t be afraid to push the limits. Now, by no means am I encouraging you to become your towns local Lady Gaga- but I do encourage inventiveness and ingenuity. With this being said, let’s check out some of the various looks that graced the runway at last weeks Fashion Week in New York City. Be inspired!

C’mon GLOVES!!! Not excited about the dress, but a strapless dress with 3/4 length gloves as an accent is definitely a look to be played with.

There are hundreds of designers, many of whom only use the finest imported leathers from around the world, and produce creations of all colors, styles, and materials.  So why, oh WHY are the young, urban and fly, all rockin’ the same SH*T???

The classic, yet ever so typical Gucci “Joy” medium Boston Bag should win an Oscar for best leading role in an urban club scene! The bag IS cute…don’t get me wrong. However I thought the goal was to NOT have on the same thing as all the other females in the club!  I know you have to feel like your “swag” is on a million, but think of it like this – if everyone won the lottery, we’d all be getting a dollar (I’m just sayin’). I’m tired of only seeing the rare and original quality couture on the arm of some Asian mami. So let me help you. We’re going to pretend that since you’re already sporting Louie V and Gucci, that money is not the X factor here.

Its been a busy year for Willie Taylor of  Day 26. From the group moving from under Bad Boy to his mixtape “SexTape” getting nearly 650,000 downloads to date, to the birth of his daughter Layla in July to the 3rd anniversary of the coming together of Day 26 today.

This summer Will joined the rest of the guys down in Atlanta to work on their third album, without a TV show, and without Que,who was let go from the group at the end of last year.

I decided to call Will out of the blue and I be damned that he answered his phone.  We talked about the doubters who thought Day 26 was done, their new album, his perception of Diddy, how tough it is to be away from his newborn, and how he is trying to help the music scene in Chicago.

Med: Congratulations on the birth of your Daughter Layla Marie Taylor how you feeling man?

Will: I am excited about that. I am a proud dad and I am down here in Atlanta recording so I am missing a lot and they are telling me she is getting big and its killing me that not there but I know the big picture of it all so I am grinding and I am focused.

Med: Also congrats on the third anniversary of Day 26 being put together on MTV. How does it feel to be together for 3 years?

Will: Alot of people counted us out. It was frustrating alot of people turned their back on us but we are still here…we are still with a major label we are putting a lot into this project I think this is going to be our best album yet. Cause this is the first time we were able to really sit back and record before we doing it around the show.

Med: Diddy has come out again talking about how there is a misconception that he kills his artists careers. Like where is Carl Thomas, 112? But that its not up to him to keep these artists relevant it takes hard work to stay relevant. What were your perceptions before working with Diddy and now?

Will: Before I was on the outside looking in and I had the same perception ‘I dont know about this Bad Boy situation and name the list of artists who didnt make it’ But for me being a firm believer in God and what God has for me is for me and no man on earth can change your destiny. And that is why I did the making the band and if it was meant to be it would happen and if it wasnt then God would let me know where to go next. No one can stop me from what I am going to do I am a workaholic. I have always tried to empower a lot of people…dont ever take what people are willing to give you make sure you get what you deserve. I feel like a lot of things up to this point are what people expected me to get but they havent seen yet what I am about to do I am steady working and by the time I am done they will really understand who Willie Taylor really is.

Med: Whats the recording process now like for Day 26 without Que? And I am not just talking about his personality but the actual recording records with 4 guys instead of 5?

Will: Of course its a lot different. Que knows that he has always been one of my favorite voices of the group.  I always liked his tone and I thought he was a dope singer. But even though there is one voice missing there are a lot of good voices left and we are going to still have that Day 26 sound. This album you going to hear more of Big Mike I dont think he got enough shine in the first two joints he is really killing these records. We have a deep story line that we have been working on with Bryan Michael Cox. The album is coming out amazing we are coming out with a lot of impact records I think people are going to really respect the music this time. With us not being on TV this time it gives Dj, radio and everyone the opportunity to love the music versus what they thought about what went on the show.

Med: What are your concerns about not having the TV show this time around cause it was huge for the promotion of your first 2 albums

Will: Well you know its about us doing the work. The TV Show was of course our biggest promo we went Billboard #1 two albums in in a row cause of the show but we want people to really recognize the music cause we went to Dj’s and radio who didnt think we needed them cause we had a fan base already and had a television show. Its our time to really do the leg work and mingle and let people know how much we really appreciate them so they can understand that even though we had a television show its really about the music. Cause I never wanted to be a television star that wasnt my passion growing up it has always been about the music.

Med: What are you trying to do with Noivak Music?

Will: As a youngster growing up in Chicago you wanted to do things but you didnt feel like you had the support of a lot of people which is another reason why I started up this open mic joint on Mondays cause I want to give Chicago artists an uplifting feeling about wanting to be an artist cause its something we have been lacking. I feel like artists in the past could have but since they didnt, for whatever reasons, I found the time to reach back and thats why I started Noivak Music and I cant promise anybody anything but I want to help as much as I can.

Med: Does having you own label and working with other artists give you a better appreciation for what Diddy has done?

Will: You cant help but look up to Diddy cause he def up there everything in his business is in order you cant knock that about the man and one thing I know is that he is a workaholic. He works right now harder than a lot of starving artist and he is a millionaire with him he is always working and I never seen him get much sleep. I  see him he is working recording he is doing Sean Jean, Bad Boy, Ciroc and is still hitting the club then recording the Dirty Money album. He is everywhere doing his thing and you have to look up to someone who is not going to let himself fall. He is on his ‘I am not going to lose grind’.

Med: Do you have a name for the album? And when should we expect for it to drop?

Will: We are shooting around names right now but the story line is great but every Day 26 fan should gear up to hear some of the best music we have ever done. Not sure when the album will be ready but the single will be ready before the end of this year. We are so focused right now. I have 3 other guys ready to win. Its something about God man there is something about God and he doesnt fail and as long as we stay grounded in that we will be great.
